Deposition of Solid Products of CH4+N2 Reactions in Positive Corona Discharge on Electrodes

We present a study of the products and their behaviour in positive coaxial corona discharge fed by mixture of N2 and CH4 in stationary regime at atmospheric pressure and ambient temperature. The gas phase products formed inside the reactor vessel have been studied by UV spectroscopic method and the deposited products on the electrodes by SEM (Scanning Electron Microscopy) and EDX analysis. The measurements were focused on the UV analysis of time evolution of C2H2 and C2H4 concentrations. This experiment has been made in the frame of the simulation of Titan’s atmosphere.
